A roofing team built around the Shire
Shire Roofing exists for one stretch of Sydney: the Sutherland Shire. Not the whole city, not a vague "southern Sydney" service area pinned to a postcode — the Shire, from the salt-blasted Cronulla peninsula in the east to the bushland-ringed plateaus of Menai and Bangor in the west, and down to the elevated, fire-fringed streets of Heathcote in the south.
That focus is the point. The Shire has two very particular roof enemies, and a roofer who only understands one of them will always miss half the problem. We're set up to handle both.
The two roof stories we know best
Coastal salt corrosion. Along the water — Cronulla, Burraneer, Lilli Pilli, Woolooware, Bundeena and the Port Hacking foreshore — salt-laden air corrodes gutters, flashings, fasteners and metal roofing far faster than it would inland. Getting the material grade right, and keeping an eye on the metal before it perforates, is the whole game here.
Bushland leaf litter. Out west and south — Menai, Bangor, Engadine, Heathcote, Illawong and the suburbs along the Royal, Heathcote and Georges River National Parks — gum trees drop bark and leaf year-round, gutters block in weeks, water backs up under the roof edge, and dry litter becomes an ember risk in summer.
In between sits the Shire's huge stock of 1970s–80s brick-and-tile homes — Miranda, Caringbah, Gymea, Kirrawee and beyond — now reaching the age where restoration or replacement makes sense.
