Roof Repairs
Fast, lasting repairs to salt-corroded flashings, wind-lifted tiles, and cracked pointing on Shire homes.
Learn more →Storm and emergency roof repairs in the Sutherland Shire — same or next-day call-outs after southerly busters and east-coast lows. Licensed and insured.
The Sutherland Shire sits squarely in Sydney's storm corridor. Severe southerly busters and east-coast lows roll through every storm season, and they don't treat the Shire evenly — the exposed coastal blocks around Cronulla, Woolooware and Burraneer cop the wind off the water, while elevated inland suburbs like Heathcote and Engadine catch it from the other direction. Lifted tiles, torn flashings, a tree limb through the roof — when it happens, you need a roofer who can move.
Shire Roofing prioritises storm and emergency call-outs across the Shire, usually same or next day. We make your roof safe and watertight first, then sort the permanent repair. Licensed and insured, with a workmanship warranty on completed work. Call (02) 9538 7456 the moment you have damage.
There are two distinct stages to storm work, and we're clear about the difference so you know what you're paying for and when. The make-safe is the urgent part: temporary watertighting, securing loose tiles and capping, and covering open sections so no more water gets in while the weather is still about. It's about stopping the damage spreading to your ceilings, insulation and belongings — not finishing the roof in the rain. The permanent repair comes once it's safe and dry: we inspect the full extent properly, explain what needs doing, and quote it honestly. Rushing a permanent fix in bad weather produces work that doesn't last, which helps no one.
Severe weather is the most common trigger for a full re-roof in the Shire, and most of that work goes through insurance. We give your claim the best footing with a thorough, well-documented assessment — though, as with any contractor, we can't guarantee an insurer's decision. What we can do is make sure the damage is captured properly and the repair is quoted honestly.
Once the immediate danger is handled, the storm often reveals weaknesses that were already there — tired pointing, corroded flashings, a leak that had been waiting to happen. We can follow up with roof repairs or leak detection so the next storm doesn't catch you out.
We're a Sutherland Shire team, on hand when the weather turns. Every repair is licensed and insured with a workmanship warranty. We cover the whole service area, including Cronulla, Woolooware, Burraneer, Heathcote and Engadine. Start at Shire Roofing.

Yes. We inspect the damage, document it clearly with the detail your insurer needs, and provide a written report and quote. We can't promise a claim's outcome, but thorough documentation gives it the best footing. A lot of Shire re-roofing follows severe storms.
Stay off the roof — wet, damaged roofs are dangerous. Move valuables away from any interior leak and put down buckets or towels. Then call us. We'll get out, make it safe and watertight, and stop a bad situation getting worse. Don't wait for the next downpour.
Emergency work is priced on what's involved — the make-safe to stop further damage, then the permanent repair once it's safe to assess. We're upfront about that on the call rather than springing it on you at the door. The goal is to stop the damage spreading first; we don't inflate an urgent job because the weather is bad.
Where it's safe to get up, yes — temporary watertighting such as secure covering over the damaged section is exactly what a make-safe is for. It stops water reaching your ceilings and belongings while the storm passes, then we return to assess and quote the permanent repair in safe, dry conditions. We won't put anyone on a roof in dangerous wind, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
