A small roof fault rarely stays small. A cracked tile lets water onto the sarking; a corroded flashing channels it into the wall cavity; a packed gutter pushes it back under the roof edge. By the time a stain appears on your ceiling, the damage has usually been working away out of sight for a while. Catching it early is almost always the cheaper outcome.
Shire Roofing repairs leaks, broken tiles, failed flashings, rusted gutters and storm damage right across the Sutherland Shire. We start with a free inspection so you know exactly what's failed and what it will cost to put right — before any work starts. Call (02) 9538 7456.
The Shire's roofs fail in two distinct ways, and we see both every week:
There's no honest flat rate for a roof repair — the price tracks what's actually failed. A single cracked or slipped tile is a small, quick job. Re-pointing a few metres of ridge capping sits in the middle. Replacing corroded valley irons or rusted flashings across a coastal roof, with safe access on a two-storey home, is a larger one. What moves the figure is consistent:
Because of that spread we don't quote a leak sight-unseen over the phone. We inspect first, show you what's failed, and give you a real written figure. Where the inspection shows the roof needs more than a patch, we'll set out what a roof restoration would cost instead so you can compare on real numbers.
Sometimes the honest answer is that patching won't pay off. If your ridge mortar is failing across the whole roof, tiles are widely cracked, or you're chasing the same leak for the third time, a roof restoration or full replacement is the better spend. We'll tell you straight which one your roof needs — we won't push a big job you don't require.
We're a Sutherland Shire team. Every repair is carried out by licensed and insured contractors and is backed by a workmanship warranty — if it's not right, we come back and fix it. We also handle roof leak detection and storm call-outs, and we cover the whole service area, including Cronulla, Caringbah, Miranda, Gymea and Sutherland. Back home? Start at Shire Roofing.

Learn more →There's no fixed price — it depends on what's failed, how big the affected area is, the roof pitch and how easy access is. A single cracked tile is a small job; corroded valley irons across a coastal roof is a larger one. We inspect first, then give you a real written figure rather than a guess over the phone.
Near the coast it's corroded flashings, rusted gutters and lifted fasteners from salt-air exposure. On the older brick-and-tile streets it's cracked pointing, slipped ridge caps and broken tiles. After a southerly buster we see a lot of wind-lifted and dislodged tiles. We handle all of them.
For active leaks and storm damage we prioritise fast call-outs and can usually get to you same or next day. We'll make the roof safe and watertight first, then quote any permanent repair. See our storm and emergency page for urgent work.
A targeted repair fixes the fault in front of you, but it won't reverse age across the whole roof. If your pointing is crumbling everywhere or tiles are widely porous, repairs buy time rather than solve the problem. We always check the surrounding area during the free inspection and tell you honestly whether a repair is the right spend or whether a restoration would serve you better.
Yes. We repair concrete and terracotta tile, Colorbond and older metal roofs across the Shire. Tile faults are usually cracked or slipped tiles and failed ridge pointing; metal faults near the coast are corroded flashings, rusted valleys and lifted or perished fasteners. We carry the right materials for each, matched to your roof's salt exposure.
